House Rewires

R Brampton Ltd have decades of reliable experience in performing rewires on properties of all ages.  Whether you have just moved into a property in Birmingham, the West Midlands or Worcestershire or are concerned about the age of your homes wiring please call us for free, no obligation advice on  07974 501673 or 0121 460 1518.  We can provide electrical rewires for landlords, property management agents and housing associations as well as home owners.

We understand many people search the internet looking to find out how much it costs to rewire a house.  However, the only way of giving you an accurate quotation, without obligation, is for us to understand a little more about the size and age of your property so we can assess the scope of the work required.

When does a house need electrical rewiring?

It is recommended that all households have their wiring checked at every 5-10 years.  Understandably, as many components of your electrical system are hidden in walls, behind plasterwork with fuse boxes often tucked away in cupboards, the state of your electrical wiring can often get pushed to the back of your mind.  However, in order to safeguard your family, visitors and yourself it is good practice according to the NICEIC to have your wiring checked over by a qualified electrician periodically.

Some indications that can suggest a possible need for rewiring include:

  • A fuse box which has a wooden back, cast iron switches or an irregular mixture of circuit boxes.
  • Rewireable type fuses & No Rcd protection
  • Out-dated sockets with round-pins or round light switches, black switches, sockets mounted on or in skirting boards and braided flex hanging from ceiling roses.
  • Bathrooms with light switches on the wall rather than ceiling cords.
  • Cables cased in black rubber, lead or fabric.  PVC installations are used now on cables.
 New Wiring

Our rewiring experts can also carry out completely new electrical installations on new build properties, extensions, home offices and following all types of home renovations.  We can work with building contractors and sub-contractors across Central England including West Midlands, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire.  All our work complies with 17th edition wiring regulations and certification can be provided on completion of our work to satisfy building control, local authorities etc.
